JOB SUMMARY
Under the guidance of a Manufacturing Technician II or senior, Engineering Technician and experienced Mechanic, responsible for developing the skills and experience related to the set-up and maintenance of all electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical equipment used in the production processes. Assists with equipment installation, modification, and adjustments as required. Under the guidance of Engineering learns skills necessary for electronic modifications and process changes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Sets up and maintains all electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic logic equipment.
2. Performs preventive maintenance on the equipment as specified in the Plant Preventative Maintenance (PM) Program or as required to ensure a smooth operation.
3. Assists in the installation, debugging and start-up of new production equipment.
4. Responsible for maintaining equipment logs for each piece of equipment, recording pertinent information about downtime and maintenance problems.
5. Responsible for mixing lube and monitoring the viscometer level of the lube as required.
6. Responsible for maintaining and adjusting Vision Systems within defined parameters.
7. Operates equipment as directed by Departmental Supervisor.
8. Responsible for program changes to production programmable controllers and required documentation to reflect the change under the guidance of the Engineering Staff.
9. Observes all safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Requirements (QSR).
10. Complies with applicable specifications, plant policies, and Departmental Procedures.
11. Supports other operators within the respective department.
12. Develops Team leadership skills.
13. Keeps Supervisor appraised of safety, production, quality, waste and downtime issues.
14. Develops and utilizes troubleshooting skills to maintain a wide variety of equipment.
15. Develops skill needed to analyze process and equipment efficiency.
16. Assist plant maintenance staff with tasks as directed by Maintenance Lead Associates.
17 Develops a proven understanding of Plant Maintenance Software system, SAP.
18. Performs miscellaneous duties as required by Supervisor.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Possess skills in hydraulic and pneumatic systems and a basic understanding of electricity and electronic principles. Two years experience in industrial manufacturing environment desired.
2. Able to successfully pass a practical assessment developed to gauge technical competence.
3. Once qualified, will cover for Maintenance Associates on vacation, LOA, etc. regardless of shift or department.
4. Continual training will be determined as required and conducted on night or day shift.
5. Able to comprehend and adhere to specifications, procedures, requirements both written and verbal.
6. Able to function in a team environment.
7. Not eligible to move out of Manufacturing Technician role for period of 1 years from date selected.
