About the role:
Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations in daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment in order to achieve production goals (i.e., quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and safety). With general supervisory direction, work with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.
Your responsiblities will include:
- Observes and complies with all safety rules and regulations. This includes QSR and ISO Standards.
- Participates in the Material Review Board (MRB) decision process.
- Identifies and implements corrective actions for manufacturing related issues.
- Identify and troubleshoot process, material or equipment problems to minimize down time
- Performs equipment setup and corrective, preventive and calibration maintenance as necessary.
- Revise existing documents, processes, and/or methods to correct or improve processes/product
- Work with vendors/suppliers to procure and install tooling, fixtures, and/or equipment
- Installs and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
- Evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. May develop or revise documents and procedures.
- Certifies manufacturing associates in the production processes.
- Evaluates and orders necessary equipment, tools and fixtures.
- Responsible for quality and adheres to manufacturing process requirements, the Boston Scientific Corporation Quality Policy and the Strategic Quality Process (SQP). Proactively communicates quality issues and concerns.
- Understands and applies a solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and related principles.
- Assist in Value Improvement (VIP) and Employee Involvement Team (EIT) projects, implementing new equipment or processes or improving existing ones for cost savings
- Collect data and perform statistical analysis for process characterization, Cpk, and scrap reduction goals.
- Work with Process Development to bring new products into production
- Work with departmental customers to improve material quality and delivery
- Train and provide technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians
- Understands and applies flex strategy, rotates as necessary and works well with all group members, both within the team and cross-functionally.
- Actively participates in Shared Responsibility and continuous improvement teams.
- Understands, follows and promotes all BSC and site-specific policies and procedures.
- Proficient in the interpretation of quality specifications via SPC; Produce material within tight tolerances and is proficient with the use of various measurement equipment.
- Takes ownership and accountability to drive metrics by actively participating in Focused Factory cross-functional teams.
- Responsible for attending and passing all core required BSC and site-specific training (i.e. QS Basics, RTK, Lean Training)
- Mandatory Weekend OT is required on a rotation recurring basis. Current OT requirement is minimum once (Saturday and Sunday) every 4 week.
Required qualifications:
- 1 year of Experience with Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education/work experience in related discipline
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous Medical Device Experience
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Self-motivated to seek out opportunities to improve business performance
- Communicates well with peers about issues/problems that arise
