Marine Affairs Northeast Program Compliance Manager

Imagine a future where you’ll coordinate marine affairs functions and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements for our offshore wind farms

Join us in this role where you’ll monitor offshore wind farm constructions and coordinate on-water operations to facilitate safety for all ocean users. You’ll deconflict wind farm activity by engaging regularly and directly with myriad maritime stakeholders, incl. commercial fishers and recreational boaters, commercial shipping, etc. You’ll work with our compliance team and government officials to ensure that Marine Affairs complies with all applicable permit conditions, statutes, regulations, and policies.

You’ll be part of PEMA Marine Affairs where you, together with your colleagues, will work to advance renewable projects onshore and offshore through the permitting and environmental compliance process. You’ll collaborate with our other departments, incl. Engineering, Government Affairs, and Communications. As a team, we provide in-house expertise to support the larger organization. We embrace innovation and lessons learned, and work to continuously grow our knowledge base in the Americas and with colleagues globally.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • completing all applicable recordkeeping and reporting requirements within our compliance management system (CMS), regulatory compliance database, and associated activity-specific compliance tools
  • serving as a liaison with our QHSE, project permitting, and environmental and permitting compliance teams to support Marine Affairs’ and company compliance audit programs
  • tracking applicable permit conditions as project approvals are obtained, and assisting construction and site managers and contractor crews in implementation of conditions
  • communicating construction or operations daily plans and activities to myriad maritime stakeholders and ocean users
  • engaging maritime stakeholders through outreach meetings, events and conferences, on-site visits, and one-on-one interviews to gather views to facilitate communication and information sharing
  • engaging marine affairs colleagues from other developers to share knowledge, and drive standardization and efficiency of marine affairs deliverables.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a background within a relevant field, e.g., compliance, offshore facility construction or operations, maritime stakeholder engagement, commercial shipping, port operations and engineering, marine affairs, or other maritime disciplines
  • have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marine affairs, environmental studies or science, engineering, construction management, or related field from an accredited program
  • have experience in compliance management in an offshore infrastructure construction and operations industry
  • have experience collaborating and communicating effectively with inter-disciplinary teams, such as QHSE, construction, EPC, and project management
  • have familiarity with compliance-related data collection, monitoring, tracking, and reporting tools, such as compliance and database management software systems
  • have experience in developing and executing plans to achieve strategic objectives relative to stakeholder engagement and coexistence.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
