About the job:
The Red Hat Market Development team is looking for a Market Development Representative to join us in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for cross-collaboration with the Marketing and Sales organizations to identify and contact prospective sales leads, qualify them, and set up appointments, and generate pipeline for Red Hat’s sales teams. This entails following up on inbound leads as well as cold prospecting.
What you will do:
  • Follow up on inbound marketing generated leads.
  • Strategize and execute campaigns with the sales and marketing teams to uncover new sales opportunities through cold calls, emailing, and social selling.
  • Utilize consultative selling techniques to identify customer business needs and communicate how Red Hat's offerings can address those needs.
  • Collaborate with the sales team on account strategy.
  • Make extensive use of successful prospecting techniques to generate customer interest.
  • Develop an understanding of Red Hat's technology, offerings, pricing, and subscription model.

What you will bring:
  • At least 6 months of experience in an SDR/MDR or Sales role, preferably in IT
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, management, information systems, marketing, communications, or related field of study work experience or academic projects in sales, marketing, or information systems
  • Public Speaking & Presentation Skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and systems like Salesforce.com (SFDC) or Outreach.io
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
  • A positive attitude
  • Strong references and demonstration of success in prior roles
  • A desire to make a positive impact on Red Hat's strategic mission
  • Curiosity to learn and grow
  • Ability to work and learn on your own, as well as on a team
  • Ability to understand customer issues and needs and link them to Red Hat's offerings
  • Ability to discuss key industry issues at multiple levels within an organization
  • Motivated with the ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Willingness to travel as needed
