Market Research Analyst (Entry Level)

Shelton Group, an ERM Group company, exists to create a market advantage for organizations that are creating a sustainable future. We have an urgent requirement for a Research Analyst.
Summary of Position:
Shelton’s market Research Assistant will be responsible for analyzing primary and secondary qualitative and quantitative research data. In addition, this position will be work at the direction of senior researchers to manage all aspects of research projects. This position requires listening skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking. The end goal for someone in this position is to create clarity of insight through the analysis of all structured and unstructured data as well as assisting in the management of research projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal team members in research and throughout the organization.
  • Proficient in the art of market research supporting senior research staff through:
    • Research Design: Participating in the brainstorming of new scopes and the development of qualitative and quantitative research instruments.
    • Fieldwork: Assisting as well as conducting primary research, including focus groups, one-on-one interviews, ethnographic research, online surveys, etc.
    • Analysis: Assisting in analyzing and summarizing consumer data including exploring geographic, demographic, firmographic and product/service usage patterns, coding and reporting unstructured data, using software to aid in analysis
    • Reporting: Creating visually appealing, synthesized reports that lead clients to actionable insights for clients
    • Project Management: Participate in the management of research projects including working with suppliers, managing recruitment, scheduling interviews, creating meeting reports and activity reports for clients. tracking hard costs against estimates, collaborating with Account Team members when required, serving in the account function, and other project management functions.
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor or otherwise directed by the Company.
Knowledge and Skill:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Aptitude for project management
  • Knowledge of research methods/tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
Location/Physical Demands:
  • Requires work to be performed onsite/in office at second floor location with no elevator access.
  • Requires sitting for long periods of time.
  • Requires frequent alpha/numeric keyboarding and navigation of basic software programs.
  • Requires effective and professional communications over the phone and in person.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, including but not limited to a computer screen, and the ability to adjust focus.
