As a Marketing Manager for our MindTap, SAM and eTextbook platforms, you’ll join a strategically vital Product Marketing team that influences virtually every corner of the company. Flex your diplomatic muscles while collaborating with every functional group in Cengage Academic to get our outstanding products into the hands of as many faculty and students as possible, educating them along the way.
Strategically craft messaging, build powerful internal and external tools and influence marketing campaigns to attract customer interest in our products. You’ll work with the product marketers to help them efficiently create tools to sell the MindTap platform in their subject areas. Plus, you’ll support and train our sales team—we call them Account Executives—developing the success-producing initiatives that will propel the business. Being data-driven, you’ll dive into our demand generation technology to expand the reach of customer engagement activities. We’re always learning and improving to increase return on investment, and you’ll be a big part of that. You’ll also flex killer analytical and collaboration skills as you lead a cross functional team to complete platform transitions and/or feature sunsets that drive the evolution of our digital offerings.

What you'll do here:
Assist the Marketing Director in development of messaging, value prop and proof points, as well as the direct to market, marketing and sales enablement strategies to drive adoption, usage, and advocacy for our products.
Be responsible for the development of and approach to monitoring, creating, and maintaining postings of sales tools and communications to our internal vPlaybook to ensure consistency of message and presentation to our sales team
Identify gaps in our sales tool inventory and work to update existing assets such as videos, flyers, PowerPoint decks, competitive grids, templates etc.
Champion deep relationships with subject area marketing teams to understand their needs and enable effective support of their campaign efforts through templated content and assets for MindTap, SAM and eTextbooks
Create and present actionable plans and messaging for platform and/or feature transitions and sunsets through heavy partnership and collaboration with a cross functional team. Facilitate the execution of the plan resulting in timely and effective GTM deliverables for transitioned platform.
Collaborate with our customer engagement and content teams to create and use customer stories as effective sales tools (case studies, success stories)
Build and complete internal training materials for the sales team on key product enhancements and capabilities
Lead through influence by collaborating with stakeholders on various projects and proactively working to grow the business
Respond to all sales product inquiries in a timely manner
Complete other duties as assigned to meet company goals
Skills you will need here:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or communications
Minimum of 3 years of marketing or sales experience
Exceptional interpersonal skills; work well with and influence other team members, customers and sales
Excel in and be driven to achieve by a highly collaborative environment where all decisions are made and plans are driven with the help and support of the related functional teams, not independently
Curious attitude; Constantly seeks more knowledge and ways to streamline processes
Ability to work quickly and juggle multiple priorities, or re-prioritize swiftly, based on business needs
The ability to remain calm under pressure whilst being able to adapt plans to changing needs as and when appropriate
Strong understanding of emerging marketing trends, technologies and integration strategies
Effective management and delivery of webinars and live events
Confirmed creative content strategies that balance user needs with business requirements
Energetic presence who can work independently—and with a sense of urgency
Excellent writing skills, including significant copyediting skills

Base Pay Range
The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
$73,400.00 - $117,400.00 USD
