The Marketing/Social Media Specialist is responsible for supporting internal program outreach initiatives, communicating news and thought leadership content, and reinforcing EDSI’s brand image through content-based campaigns in support of EDSI’s mission of helping people and companies in transition. This role is responsible for managing external social media content across multiple online platforms related to workforce development, training and consulting to promote EDSI’s work and increase visibility. This role reports to the WIOA Manager and supports planning and execution of departmental objectives. The Marketing/Social Media specialist also serves as designated proofreader for EDSI, ensuring that style, grammar and punctuation for all written communication follows the company’s established style guide.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
Develop, publish and maintain compelling content for blog, website, newsletter, social media channels, marketing campaigns and special initiatives
Manage social media publishing calendar by incorporating EDSI-sponsored and supported events, national dates of recognition, job postings and CEO-inspired content
Creates and maintains content for kiosks placed in schools in the community
Connect with regional representatives to gather program news and updates for inclusion in company newsletter, website and social media
Edit and proofread content for proposal, marketing, talent, curriculum and consulting teams
Serve as public relations liaison to program offices by writing press releases and facilitating media placement
Provide special project support as needed
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or other related field of study and 10+ years of professional experience
Demonstrate high level of editorial standards to ensure accuracy and relevancy
Exceptional creative content development, including blogging and web copy
