The Senior Manager oversees the release planning process, workflow and quality processes, working with key business stakeholders to understand individual business area and product priorities, working with IT and QA to create a balance between maximizing work output and minimizing risk. This position manages change throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to address immediate and unexpected needs. The Senior Manager will manage to the roadmaps for enterprise work, creating robust reporting of initiatives status & strategies, releases and providing key business stakeholders with initiative, release and workflow communication tools for executive management and will work closely with Product Owners, QA disciplines and IT to ensure synergy between Digital and dependent channel teams. Will communicate with channel partners to ensure alignment, initiative status and exposure of release information. This role has 2 – 3 direct reports and manages the workload of others.CANDIDATE PROFILEEducation and Experience• 4-year degree from an accredited university in Computer Sciences, Software Development or Business Administration, or equivalent experience/certification.• 7+ years’ experience in Software Testing, Software Development, or related professional area• Experience managing transformational strategies for business units.• Experience managing a distributed team, including FTEs and External Partner resources• deliver results under challenging conditions, particularly when faced with complexity and ambiguity.• Proven experience in using and developing automated test strategy and integration• SAFe Agile experience• Must possess critical thinking skills in addition to good interpersonal and communication skills• Technical aptitude and ability to learn new software solutions quickly• Authoring test cases using BDD• Working in a fast-paced, Agile/Scrum engineering environment delivering incremental software with high quality• Lead and support relevant governance reviews and audits across product squads.• Cloud based testing Technology and Tooling• Guiding the development of standards for software quality in a shift left environmentCORE WORK ACTIVITIESMaintaining Goals• Consistently drive delivery to maximize each release in support of Digital revenue and room night goals.• Ensure predictable, frequent release cadence to enable the Path to Quality.• Consistently partners at the program level to review roadmaps, and identify gaps, opportunities, and resource needs;• Documents project progress accurately and submits reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines are met.• Leading geographically dispersed teams while being sensitive to all cultures and norms• Enhance and maintain the Digital QE Functional strategy across Digital channels.• Leading geographically dispersed teams while being sensitive to all cultures and norms Consistently drive delivery to maximize each release in support of Digital revenue and room night goals.Managing Work, Projects, and Policies• Balance maximizing release content with minimizing risk so that key business projects have clear path to production without risk from lesser priority projects.• Meet with product owners and business expertise leads to understand current priorities and work plans to ensure alignment with releases and paths to production.• Manage to platform roadmaps, including executive roadmap depicting all items going to market across digital web (desktop and mobile), mobile apps, and APIs.• Manage communications regarding release progression and risk.• Communicate and negotiate with key IT stakeholders to map dependent releases to ensure alignment of other infrastructure work.• Lend support to other Channel product development efforts as needed.Systems and Tools• Solid understanding and practical use of Jira, HPQC, Service Now, and other QA/QE-related tools.• Experience developing, maintaining, and communicating complex processes to support Digital Quality strategy.• Knowledge of WebGL, React, AWS solutions architecture, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Java• Knowledge of SoapUI, BrowserStack, SauceLabs, JMeter, Cypress bManaging Work, Projects, and Policies• Ensure Test artifacts are consistent and of the right quality.• Balance maximizing release coverage while minimizing risk so that key business projects have a clear path to production without risk from lesser priority projects.• Meet with program teams, product owners, and business expert leads to understand current priorities and work plans to ensure alignment to ensure adequate automation support ultimately leading to quality releases.• Manage to platform roadmaps, including executive roadmap depicting all items going to market across Digital channels from a release and automation perspective.• Manage initiative communications and any escalation of risks.• Communicate and negotiate with key IT stakeholders to map dependencies to ensure alignment of other infrastructure work.• Lend support to other Channel product development efforts as needed.Additional Responsibilities• Using best practices, gatekeeping our Quality standards and best practices to ensure efficient, effective testing for initiatives, enhancements, releases, and regression testing across all our supported channels• Recommending improvements as necessary to our standards and best practices• Defining quality metrics, gathering and analyzing the data to implement the process an existing process to test all releases that include automation into the software building, testing, and releasing process• Development & review of Integration, regression test plans to perform assigned by manager.• Provide timely feedback on resources performing functional work.• Escalate issues to the manager as they occur.• Maintain vendor relations.
