Summary:
The Financial Analyst will be heavily involved in building systems, processes and analytics to best support strategic decision making for the enterprise. A successful member of the Martin Marietta FP&A team collaborates effectively to solve problems, implement solutions and successfully deliver to high operational standards. The role requires a strong self-starter mentality, outstanding business acumen, excellent analytical abilities and superior written and verbal communication skills. An ideal candidate will have a strong bias towards data-driven decision-making and will be comfortable with ambiguity while working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the monthly and quarterly reporting process by preparing financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Assisting in the quarterly process to support the CFO and Investor Relations in earnings call preparation.
- Creating new reporting and enhancing existing reporting in Planning Analytics (PAX) to aid in financial analysis.
- Assisting with training initiatives related to the company’s financial reporting systems.
- Supporting the annual planning and quarterly forecasting process for the company, ensuring a streamlined process that produces reliable results.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of analytical dashboards and tools.
- Supporting continuous process improvements in all FP&A and Strategic Finance related functions, including any necessary financial system developments and updates.
- Build reporting and create ad hoc analysis to provide greater insight to stakeholders.
- Assisting the development and maintenance of financial models to support business decisions and strategic planning.
- Assisting initiatives to enhance the company’s data analytics capabilities to drive business and process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, with a preference for finance or accounting and a strong understanding of financial planning, modeling and variance analysis.
· Minimum of 1 year in an FP&A or Finance-related field.
· High level of proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using Cognos, IBM Planning Analytics, Tableau or similar tools is also highly desirable.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact regularly with executive and operational management.
· High level of energy and ownership with a dedication and commitment to driving results.
· Ability to thrive and be highly effective in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
