Material Coordinator, San Marcos, CA- DRD/Bio-Techne
Targeted compensation range for this role is $17.79-29.26/hr (depending on experience) plus a discretionary semi-annual bonus.

Position Summary:
Coordinate and ensure the flow of materials throughout the manufacturing process, from receipt of material to shipment of product, expediting, stocking, and shipping functions. Ability to perform daily customer service functions related to the receiving, issuing of materials and shipping.
Key Responsibilities:

Accurately receive incoming materials by verifying catalog numbers, lot numbers and quantities against the packing list, purchase order and / or return authorization form per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

Unpack and sort, check, count and verify incoming materials before entering into the database.
- Record shortages, reject damaged items and advise appropriate personnel.
- Route received products to specified departments or quarantine.
- Prepare Incoming Materials Specifications (IMS) for received goods and other routine administrative paperwork.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Purchasing to ensure component availability.

Accurately ship outgoing materials by verifying catalog numbers, lot numbers and quantities against the packing list, per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

Pack and sort, check, count and verify outgoing materials before final shipment. Record shortages, damaged items and advise appropriate personnel.
- Prepares shipments for courier or freight forwarders; selects appropriate shipping box; packs items to ensure safe delivery.

Prepares packing slips; checks products to be shipped against work orders to ascertain quantities, destination and routing are correct.

Communicate with other departments regarding the status of outgoing materials.
- Prepare routine paperwork including maintaining department database, prepare shipping reports and filing of shipping records.

Tracks lost shipments.

Attends daily production meeting.
- Maintains component status of Receiving Inspection (RI) Bin.

Assist in Shop Order (SO) issues and returns.
- Maintain organization in receiving area, refrigerators, freezers and warehouse floor.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory. Scrap goods via disposition as required.

Communicate with other departments regarding the status of materials.

Maintain Forklift, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and DOT HazMat Transportation & Security Awareness Certifications.
- Provides weekly shipping and order status for daily production meeting.

Ensure packages are sent in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

Maintain Shop orders including route, issue / return of raw materials. Includes daily review of current manufacturing and packaging schedules.
- Ensure timely flow of goods throughout the production cycle.
- Reconcile inventory and perform maintenance in appropriate software system.
- Maintain component status of Quality (QA) bin.
- Performs more sophisticated tasks requiring additional experience.

Assist in training new personnel to Standard SOPs.
Education and Experience:
HS Diploma or GED Equivalent. 2-4 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Follows departmental policies, procedures and objectives, and safety standards.

Must be able to utilize inventory aides and warehouse equipment to complete tasks.

Must have sufficient English communication skills to understand verbal and written instructions.

Ability to work well as part of a team.

Must have sound, basic knowledge of computers and software programs.

Knowledge of the metric measurement. Good mathematical ability.

An exceptional orientation to detail and accuracy.
