Material Handler - 3rd shift (starting at $21.26/hr + $1.00)

Position: Material Handler

Location: Irving, TX

Pay: $21.26 plus $1.00 shift differential

Shift: 3rd (10:00 pm - 6:00 am)

While reporting to the production shift supervisor, you will be responsible for primarily moving product in the plant.

Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.

Day to day responsibilities include:

· Reporting in Oracle

· Servicing spiral lines

· Forklift Operations: Loading/Unloading trucks

· Moving trailers

· Month End cycle count process.

· 5S/DTM activities

· All other duties assigned.

This position is in our plant in Dalton, GA.

· We expect you to be Sonoco mission driven

· You must have at least one-year of Forklift Experience (Required)

· You will need to have exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.

· You have to have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.

· To succeed in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills

· You will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

· Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.

· You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.

· You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

· Physical work including but not limited to pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, reaching, etc.

· Must be willing to work outside of regular shift hours including weekends if production or customer demands require it.
