Responsibilities

Responsible for comprehensive assessment, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of Experience Communication Education Programs and process improvement initiatives to support Mayo Clinic's vision and strategic goals. Responsibilities and scope of work includes engaging in broad enterprise, and shield advancing educational training and sustainment. In partnership with X colleagues, works closely with leadership and stakeholders in developing mission-related strategy and influencing change for broad spectrum of needs. Leverages experience to address gaps, enhance performance, achieve communication in healthcare goals, and optimize outcomes for business and practice issues Develops curriculum and provides edits on written material using a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and advanced tools and techniques while driving results in alignment with culture and customer needs. Applies best practice X knowledge and communication in healthcare. Collaborates with business partners and leadership to create patient experience solutions. Effectively manages and influences cross-functional, matrix and site relationships. Ensures a systemic, enterprise viewpoint when engaging and developing training initiatives. Serves as program/project member to support project activities and implementation with guidance from Sr. Advisors and other leaders and team members. Is responsible for understanding external environment challenges, trends, and bring best practice and innovation to X. Seen as a subject matter expert and thought leader related to building world class communication in healthcare to support Mayo Clinic's mission. Serves as spokesperson for X Education and Training. Engages with leadership including presenting to leadership groups across the enterprise. The Experience Education and Training Advisor will work with site specific Arizona communication training requests in addition to Enterprise projects and collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization. This team member will support practice partners in enhancing patient facing communication and provide education that supports team member communication between roles.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 5+ years of professional experience in curriculum development and training/facilitation. Minimum of 2+ years of health-care experience. Master’s degree preferred.

CAPABILITIES REQUIRED: Skilled in promoting cultural diversity. Extensive knowledge of Motivational Interviewing concepts. Role model for Mayo Clinic values of quality, service, safety, and outcomes, Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, Strong conceptual and analytical skills, Ability to build partnerships within teams and across departments, Knowledge of patient communication models, coaching models and adult learning theories and learning principles. Extensive consulting skills. Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Former clinical experience preferred. None.

Experience with motivational interviewing, coaching skills, and communication in healthcare knowledge preferred. Utilizing technology platforms such as Microsoft Teams/ Zoom for virtual training is needed. Presentation skills and effective written communication skills are essential to this role along with organization, attention to detail, and project management skills.

$79,747 - $119,683/ year; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.

Schedule Details

Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00pm with some limited weekend or extended hours based on work priorities or project timelines. This position will provide training onsite at Arizona campuses as well as work remotely or utilize campus drop-in centers.
