That’s why our benefits program supports your physical, emotional, mental and financial health, with an emphasis on work/life balance.• Real rewards for real work: We offer generous compensation packages that recognize hard work and excellence.Job Description• Develop and maintain relationships with nonprofit organizations that refer transactional matters to the firm• Identify and evaluate transactional pro bono matters for eligibility and propriety• Promote lawyer engagement in pro bono representation of nonprofit, tax-exempt clients and low-income entrepreneurs and business owners• Maintain strong relationships with the firm’s transactional practice groups to promote pro bono participation and advance the firm’s overall strategic goals• Leverage experience representing nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations as well in other transactional areas to oversee pro bono matters and advise pro bono clients, as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients and meaningful professional development opportunities for volunteer attorneys• Monitor progress of transactional pro bono matters and take steps to ensure their timely completion• Attend, facilitate, and, where appropriate, offer trainings in transactional areas of pro bono practice• Participate in task forces, bar association committees, professional associations of pro bono counsel, and other gatherings, where appropriate, to assess and advance transactional pro bono practice• Help develop and maintain electronic resources for transactional pro bono practice• Plan and execute the firm’s Pro Bono Outside the Courtroom programming• Develop transactional pro bono opportunities suitable for collaboration with major firm clients• Assist with the firm’s internal pro bono promotional efforts, including newsletters, intranet site maintenance and other similar matters• Assist with pro bono orientation sessions for summer associates, incoming class of new associates, and lateral attorneys• Demonstrate patience and approachability to create a safe learning space and facilitate effective educational experiences for attorneys new to pro bono, including associates and partnersPosition Requirements• Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school• Admitted to practice law in good standing in the local jurisdiction• At least five (5) years of experience in law firm, legal services or government role• Excellent judgment and collaborative skills• Excellent oral and written communication skills• Excellent people skills and the ability to work well with attorneys and staff• Strong mentorship capabilities and interpersonal skills• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)Successful candidates will be provided with outstanding career opportunities and will receive a competitive total rewards package with the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses.Target Hiring Range $150,000 - $275,000Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWE provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work.
