Generative AI Engineer

As a Generative AI Engineer you will be responsible for designing and implementing both customer-facing and internal-use solutions that leverage large language models in the health technology domain.  You will work closely with the editors of MCG’s evidence-based care guidelines, data scientists, and clinical informaticists to develop AI applications that enhance content production and/or improve operational efficiency. This is a unique opportunity for full-stack development to experiment and solve for multiple use cases.  

Responsibilities:

• Solve internal and external customer problems using LLM technologies and tactics you choose that balance speed, function, and long-term robustness 

• Work closely with and assist clinical editors in more efficient and accurate content creation 

• Rapid prototyping of generative AI applications 

• Full-stack development from proof-of-concept to front-end UI 

• Evaluate, measure, and improve performance on a continuous basis 

• Collaborate with clinical editors to prioritize new use cases for development and obtain feedback on existing solutions 

• Work with data scientists to rigorously evaluate various strategies of optimizing prompts 

• Stay up to date on industry developments 

 
Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years of full-time software engineering experience 

• Python advanced proficiency 

• Experience with modern front-end web technologies, such as React.js 

• Familiarity with Azure or AWS cloud computing 

• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability 

• Collaborative mindset 

 
Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 

• Experience building generative AI solutions with OpenAI (e.g. GPT-4 API) 

• Proficiency in leveraging RAG, chunking, and embedding techniques in AI solutions 

• Health technology domain experience 

• Experience working with clinicians 

Pay Range: $127,500– $178,500 

Other compensation: Bonus Eligible
