Job Description

The Sales Data Analyst will work under the general direction of the MPG Director of Sales Operations and will be responsible for meticulously analyzing sales data and generating insightful reports to inform and support the sales team's strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Power BI, Dynamics 365 (D365), and demonstrate exceptional adaptability to shifting priorities. This role demands a diligent professional with robust analytical capabilities and a profound dedication to data-driven insights.

Data Collection and Management:
• Gather sales data from various sources, including CRM systems, sales databases, and external market data.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity through regular audits and data cleaning processes.

Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Analyze sales data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Create detailed reports and dashboards to present findings to sales teams and management.
• Use statistical tools and software to conduct quantitative analysis.

Performance Monitoring:
• Track sales performance against targets and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
• Monitor sales activities, such as lead generation, conversion rates, and customer retention.
• Identify areas of improvement and provide actionable recommendations.

Forecasting and Planning:
• Develop sales forecasts based on historical data and market trends.
• Assist in sales planning and budgeting processes.
• Provide insights for setting sales targets and quotas.

Market Research:
• Conduct market research to understand competitive landscape and market dynamics.
• Analyze customer behavior and preferences to identify opportunities for growth.

Collaboration:
• Work closely with sales teams to understand their needs and provide relevant data insights.
• Collaborate with marketing, finance, and other departments to align strategies and improve overall business performance.

Tool and System Management:
• Manage and optimize sales analytics tools and software.
• Implement new tools and technologies to enhance data analysis capabilities.
• Train sales teams on using analytics tools and interpreting data reports.

Ad Hoc Analysis:
• Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as required by management.
• Respond to data inquiries from various stakeholders in a timely manner.

Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in sales analytics.
• Continuously seek ways to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.

Data Visualization:
• Create clear and compelling data visualizations to communicate insights effectively.
• Use tools like Tableau, Power BI, or other visualization software to build interactive dashboards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Data Analyst or in a comparable analytical role.
  • Proficiency in Power BI with demonstrated experience in creating complex reports and dashboards.
  • Strong expertise in Dynamics 365 (D365) and its application in sales data analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with other data analysis tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
