Quality Pod Manager (Software QA)

We’re looking for our next experienced and strategic Quality Pod Manager to join our QA team. Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, you’ll be leading the development and execution of QA test cases and strategies for a specific product area. 

  A day in the life as a Quality Pod Manager: 

  • Oversee the execution of QA processes and strategy for a specific product area under the direction of the Manager, Engineering, ensuring proper and consistent execution. 
  • Work closely with Product org to plan and design test cases and strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for test automation; write and execute test automations and implement tools/frameworks. 
  • Build and develop a high-performing QA team through interviewing, training, and mentorship; keep team members up to speed on new processes and best practices. 
  • Collaborate with Product org and other stakeholders to refine domain knowledge and stay aware of new and evolving product features and requirements. 
  • Support escalated issues for both internal and external customers.

  • I have strong technical knowledge of software quality assurance. 
  • I gained my knowledge through a BSc in a technical field, plus a minimum of 5 years of experience in a QA/QE role at a technology/SaaS company. 
  • I possess foundational knowledge of a variety of testing types, such as smoke, sanity, regression, load, performance, etc. 
  • I have experience building out test automation. 
  • I have at least two years of experience owning the strategic oversight of QA standards and processes, particularly when it comes to planning and designing test cases. 
  • I have experience as a senior member of a growing team, and am comfortable acting as a leader and mentor to junior QA team members.
  • I possess strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • I am a strategic and analytical thinker with a continuous improvement mindset. 
  • I’m extra passionate about working collaboratively to deliver high-quality code to customers. 
  • I’m willing to occasionally travel and have a valid passport and no travel restrictions that limit my ability to cross the border between Canada and the USA (and Vietnam if required for role).
  • I thrive in an agile environment that is constantly changing and encourages team members to collectively collaborate and communicate. 
  • I love to be directly involved in projects and initiatives that offer continued learning and endless opportunity to express my ideas and build my leadership skills.
