Meat Clerk (wrap, stock, counter service) Butcher Apprentice potential!

We currently have a need for Meat Service Counter Clerk that may have interest in becoming a meat apprentice (butcher in training).

Full-Time.

Shifts begin as early as 7am and end as late as 8pm.

Summary

We are a natural, organic, and specialty grocery store. All positions at Lucky's Market are required to execute their daily job responsibilities in addition to focusing on sales and customer service. It is the expectation of each employee to maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to be a team player.

In summary, you will be responsible for handling raw meat, meat products and raw seafood. Heavy concentration at the service counter assisting customers, wrapping/packaging product and labeling.

Addition duties include:

• Stocking shelves, cases and displays while maintaining neat, attractive conditions and properly signed displays.
• Rotate product, removing it when appropriate.
• Cleaning

This position uses both an automated wrapper and a manual wrapper. You must be able to use a touch-screen computer labeling machine (or be trained to). While we will train you on the different cuts of meats, any knowledge you already have is beneficial.

Essential Functions / Requirements
Providing quality customer service is an essential component of every position within the store. Each position serves its own group of customers, which may consist of consumers, co-workers, vendors and business associates. As much care should be given to handling our internal “customers”, as the ultimate consumer.

- Maintain proper shelf, case and display conditions, to include: cleaning, stocking, straightening, rotating and culling product.

- Maintain proper sanitary conditions, to include: cleaning and sanitizing of all work surfaces, utensils and equipment.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary standing position for 90 percent of the time. The individual needs to occasionally move about inside the store and frequently bend to stock the display case. They are constantly preparing, cutting, and weighing meat products by using both mechanical and hand powered utensils. Must be able to continuously reach and grasp to prepare meat products. The individual must be able to detect the coloring of products throughout the production process. Must be able to exchange accurate information when servicing customers. The individual must frequently lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds when moving cases and stocking product.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
