Chief Financial Officer

MeBe is a provider of evidence-based therapies for children with autism and other special needs. MeBe is seeking a CFO with a background in Behavioral Health Services to  play a critical role in overseeing all financial aspects of the business. This position reports directly to the CEO and involves managing a small team. The CFO will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in revenue-related processes, ultimately contributing to the financial success of the organization.

About what you’ll be doing:

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor a small team of finance and accounting professionals, including FPA analysts, accountants, payroll specialists, and revenue cycle managers.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members to help them achieve their professional development goals.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s long-term goals.

  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

  • Monitor financial performance against budget and provide regular reports to the Senior Leadership Team.

  • Oversee cash flow management, investment strategies, and risk management.

Technical Accounting

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including healthcare-specific financial regulations.

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures, managing the revenue recognition process for services provided while ensuring proper accounting for client contracts and service agreements.

Revenue Cycle Management:

  • Manage a Revenue Cycle Manager and team responsible for overseeing the revenue cycle management process, including billing, collections, and reimbursement analysis.

  • Optimize revenue cycle workflows to maximize collections and minimize revenue leakage.

  • Utilize ABA knowledge to enhance financial decision-making and support program development.

  • Stay current with changes in healthcare regulations and reimbursement policies to ensure compliance and maximize revenue opportunities.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including GAAP, HIPAA, and other industry-specific requirements.

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective internal controls and risk management strategies.

Strategic Planning:

  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic financial plans that support the organization's growth objectives.

  • Work closely with various departments (e.g., clinical, operations, people operations, marketing) to ensure financial alignment with organizational goals.

  • Evaluate financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and process improvement.

  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making across the organization.

  • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team.



   Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification is a plus.

  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role.

  • Strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), experience working in multidisciplinary environments.

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle processes, billing procedures, and compliance requirements.

  • A strong process thinker with an ability to translate complex operations into a clear and easily understandable process

  • Central Reach (PMS) knowledge and experience preferred.

  • Multi-site and multi-state experience required. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
