Mechanical Project Engineer

Guardian Glass is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Geneva, NY!

One of our core principles is that we need to transform ourselves and our processes faster than our competition in order to remain a viable business. Guardian is a privately owned company whose management invests over 90% of our profits back into the business. Much of this capital goes into automated glass handling equipment, process controls, and plant improvements. We are looking for motivated individuals to participate and lead these initiatives.

Our Team

Along with project engineering/management, you will assist our operations and maintenance teams with your expertise in mechanical engineering.

What You Will Do

• Initiate, lead, and participate in capital projects to completion utilizing vendors, contractors, and plant personnel to help drive our plant transformation forward
• Ongoing capital projects in conveying systems, automated stacking equipment, batching and process controls
• Manage technical documentation such as RFQ's, equipment requirements, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated models
• Partner with the plant maintenance and asset care teams to provide training, leadership, and technical support for new and existing equipment

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience with practical mechanical design, fabrication, and manufacturing support for various mechanical, process, and fluid systems
• Experience partnering with engineering and maintenance teams to support a continuous process environment
• Experience leading a team in a project management or maintenance support role
  

What Will Put You Ahead

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent experience
• Experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks, and/or other CAD packages
• Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance

For this role, we anticipate paying $80,000 - $110,000 per year.
