Medical Office Assistant I-II

Functions as a Medical Office Assistant in a professional medical office environment. Responsibilities range from processing patient visit utilizing clinical EMR system, receiving incoming calls, routing electronic phone notes to appropriate areas, facilitating patient check out process, running reports and preparing cash drawer for daily deposits to processing medical claims and payments. Individual will work a rotating late shift periodically with other Medical Office Assistants. Candidates should possess a working knowledge of medical office procedures for proper coding and data entry purposes. Medical Office Assistant must maintain strict confidentiality of all patient health information. Effective listening, communication and customer service skills are required. All other duties as assigned.

This position will require the ability to lift up to 25 pounds (example box of computer paper).

Position Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications:

High School/GED

Four years clerical and/or customer service experience.

Requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and handle cash accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least one year of medical office experience.


Ability to perform all assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision.
