Responsibilities:
The Medical Office Assistant III will work Full Time, Days and serves as the first point of contact for patients within the Bassett Healthcare Network. This is a key role in the patient centered care team.
- The Medical Office Assistant demonstrates excellence in all patient and customer encounters including face-to-face and telephone interactions.
- The Medical Office Assistant assures that a high quality patient experience takes place by providing administrative support to ambulatory patient care teams through excellent customer service, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.

The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for accurate, appropriate scheduling of patients for optimum care and provider efficiency.
- The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for collecting demographic and financial information during the scheduling and/or registration processes to ensure full and timely revenue capture.
- The Medical Office Assistant may have direct revenue responsibility through payment collection, cash handling, processing of insurance eligibility and managed care information.
- Demonstrates a high level of understanding, or acts as a subject matter expert for certain facets of the job (ie. Scheduling, Registration, Referrals etc.).
- Takes a lead in the training of new incoming staff members.
Qualifications:
Education/Qualifications:

High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

Associates degree or higher may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
Experience:

3 years of relevant work experience required.
Licensure/Certificates:
-
MOA Certification preferred, but not necessary.
Skills:

Strong computer, customer service and communication skills required.
- Skills in medical terminology a plus.
- Ability to prioritize work.
- Must have the ability to handle confidential information and sensitive situations.
- Interpersonal skills to work with diverse people within and outside the organization.

Successfully complete the competency requirements.
Physical Requirements:

Busy medical practice/clinic environment with frequent patient interaction.
