More than 463 million people worldwide suffer from diabetes, and this is expected to reach close to 600 million in 10 years. The diabetes device industry is unique in that technologies available to monitor and manage diabetes are starting to converge with consumer electronics technology. As such, the decision dynamics are evolving; patients have a stronger voice in therapy choice, care is transitioning away from specialists, and the role of artificial intelligence is elevating care.As a Senior UX Designer in the Digital Strategy and Capability Management team, you are passionate about human-centered design and have a deep understanding of the process and craft, but also have a nimble, creative and pragmatic approach. You will be part of the UX team and collaborate on new product features and user experience enhancements for patients, their caregivers, and healthcare professionals.You will help drive design sprints through a human-centered design process, guiding sprint teams to frame design challenges, collaborate on ideas, develop prototypes and test them.The output of your work will provide a fluid transfer into development by building clarity of the higher-level purpose and vision of the potential value in commercialization.The Diabetes Operating Unit seeks candidates who will exceed our customers’ expectations by striving without reserve for the greatest possible user experience, best in class reliability and quality, processes, and systems by being accountable, having a voice, and taking action.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.• Support the Sr Principal UX designer and execute UX projects across the Diabetes organization• Using Design Strategy & Research, provide strategic guidance and recommendations to our business partner stakeholders that will help solve unique business challenges• Analyze data and report results, make recommendations for improvements based on UX guidelines and best practices• Work closely with the product, development, marketing teams to conceptualize, design, iterate, and develop prototypes to test with end users• Embody our users’ perspectives and collect feedback, user research, and other insights to inform our overall strategy, product, and design decisions• Inspire new ways of thinking and exploring the unknown using fresh and unique approaches to design problems• Influencing team culture by always being inclusive, welcoming and candid-identifying, leading and delivering initiatives that improve the culture across the org• Improving the caliber and efficiency of the Digital Product Design org through identifying, owning and successfully driving substantial and challenging org-wide initiatives• Develop and support standard operating procedures and practices• Be comfortable with frequent customer contact, and demonstrate knowledge of customer’s journeyMUST HAVES (Minimum Qualifications)• Bachelor’s degree required• Minimum 5+ years of experience in UX, Visual Design, Interaction Design, or Product Design, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experiencePhysical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position. PR) locations (USD):$113,600.00 - $170,400.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
