**Overview:**As a Software Engineering Intern at Medtronic, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects alongside experienced engineering teams, making a meaningful impact on the lives of millions. Our internship program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive learning experience, allowing you to develop your skills, build your network, and gain valuable industry insights. **Responsibilities:**• Design, develop, test, and implement operating systems components, software tools, and utilities• Determine systems software design requirements• Support development and execution of the organization's cloud strategy from a technical perspective• Work with stakeholders across the organization to evaluate cloud systems and identify appropriate solutions• Develop, modify, apply, and maintain standards for software systems quality operating methods, processes, and procedures• Conduct evaluation of software systems activities, including requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, test, verification, and validation• Introduce and maintain processes, tools, and methodologies to balance needs throughout the software development life cycle• *Qualifications:**• Working towards a Master's degree with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2026, Winter 2026, or Spring 2027• Working towards a degree in computer or software engineering, computer science, or related engineering major• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis and does not require sponsorship in the future for an employment visa• Ability to participate full-time (40 hours/week) as part of our intern cohort• Dates: June 2nd - August 15th (exception dates possible for students enrolled at schools that follow the quarter system)• *Nice to Haves:**• A minimum 3.0 out of a 4.0 cumulative GPA• Flexibility in geographic location• Knowledge of one or more of the following technologies: C, C++, C#/.NET, SQL, JavaScript, Java, Swift, HTML/CSS, Microsoft Visual Studio, Jenkins, Gitlab• Prior work on projects in a team environment• Relevant academic project, internship, or lab experience• Experience in statistics and data analysis and/or Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM)• Technical writing skills• Strong written and verbal communication skills• *Benefits:**• Competitive salary• Flexible benefits package• Housing assistance with relocation expense reimbursement (for out-of-state interns)• Transportation stipend• Educational and social events throughout the summer• Opportunity to work on real-world projects alongside experienced engineering teams• Comprehensive learning experience, allowing you to develop your skills, build your network, and gain valuable industry insights
