The opportunity:

The Event Production Segment at Meeting Tomorrow provides audiovisual, production, hybrid and virtual services for corporate events nationwide. The Strategic Account Director (SAD) will bring in new business to our Event Production segment of our business with a focus on Fortune 1000 companies, fast growing companies and clients with a high volume of events. This role is crucial in our growth over the next 3-5 years!


As a Strategic Account Director (SAD), your goal is to bring new audiovisual, production and/or technology solutions to your clients for all of their nationwide event needs. You’re responsible for selling $1M in your first 12 months and have the autonomy to bring in business from your own creative lens. We offer many agency solutions under our Meeting Tomorrow umbrella that will help reach this goal including large end production solutions, creative services, meeting planning services and more. SAD’s are successful in this role when they find clients who execute multiple events throughout the year, in a variety of locations, and Meeting Tomorrow can be their dedicated production partner. This person is in front of clients all the time and can expect up to 30% of their time is traveling. 


The SAD is responsible for:

• Building a pipeline of opportunities through their business development efforts

• Build strong relationships with high value potential clients

• Attend industry events and networking with potential clients

• Qualify all new opportunities and lead them to close

• Close opportunities to maximum potential which means determining best solution, creating the creative design and working with internal teams to make sure technical sound

• Oversee and direct all operations inside of their accounts (creating proposals, presenting solutions, negotiating contracts, receiving payment and working with internal teams on execution)

• Closing deals!

We have about 85 folks that work across the country. The Strategic Accounts team is very collaborative - you’ll get support from your manager, your teammates and you’ll also work closely with our Production Managers who are the technical masterminds behind the events we produce, and Project Managers who are the clients’ day-to-day planner after you acquire new customers and their event portfolio.

What we need:

In order to be successful in our industry, you have to love events and want to help customers accomplish their creative vision for the event. And, you’re someone who is excited to build your book of business from scratch. You have relationships with meeting planners and have experience uncovering needs and mapping them to solutions. In addition to that, we’re looking for these skills for this role. 

• Event Experience. Whether selling or managing, it’s important that someone in this role has an in-depth understanding of meetings and events. 

• Sales superstar. You’re a sales person at heart and you love building relationships, maintaining relationships and providing incredible solutions for clients. 

• Great communicator. Communication with clients, coworkers and prospects. Direct and clear communication is a priority. 

High initiative. Our clients’ events are our top priority and our sales team must be dedicated to the success of their events. 

• Organized. With taking a high volume of opportunities, it’s important that this person is able to multitask and stay organized with all the different moving parts.

• Relationship builder. You have relationships with event industry professionals and you get joy out of building new relationships. 

• Collaborative. You know when to bring in the appropriate resources to provide the best solution for the client. 

The Impact Within 1 month, you’ll:

  • Understand MT’s value and map to client needs
  • Have a system for managing leads and clients
  • Learn internal roles and communication processes 
  • Determine resources needed for prospecting (lead generation, collateral, presentations, proposals, etc.) 

Within 3 months, you’ll:

  • Create a strategic plan for achieving revenue goals
  • Present to at least 20 clients 
  • Collaborate on 10 custom proposals in collaboration with Event Designers and Production Managers

Within 6 months, you’ll:

  • Have created master services agreements with at least 5 clients
  • Onboard a new client with Project Manager (PM) and understand PM responsibilities
  • Attend at least 3 events to see the production and client onsite experience

Within 12 months, you’ll:

  • Have achieved servicing $1M of services for your client’s events
  • Have built a handful of strong client partnerships who see a ton of value working with MT
  • Be able to accurately forecast your business 6-9 months out 
  • Be a steward of MT representing at industry events and other various sales & marketing initiatives 

$120,000 - $235,000 a year

The above range is the starting salary range. The final starting salary is based on individual experience and how closely it translates to the role. Once in the role, the full compensation includes salary, commission and bonus.
