MizzouRec Services and Facilities is a department within the Division of Student Affairs that provides and enhances recreational experiences for the university community through its programs, facilities, and services. Job Description

Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Member & Guest Services area of MizzouRec Services including two point of sale service desks, customer relations, personnel management, and business operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide supervision, staffing, training and leadership to the Member and Guest Services area, including 40 - 50 student support staff.
  • Greet and interact with students and members, adhering to customer service standards to achieve customer satisfaction. Answer members’ and guests’ questions and provide information on procedures/policies programs and/or services. Resolve member and guest complaints. Refer unresolved complaints to the appropriate area or individual. Develop and implement tools to measure member satisfaction.
  • Interpret, clarify, and enforce policies and procedures. Maintain current knowledge of point of sales and facility management system (Fusion). Prepare weekly, monthly, and semester statistic reports related to student and non-student member sales, access, and membership statistics.
  • Manage member and guest accounts and review billing for accuracy. Communicate charges for services rendered, collect payment, or verify billing information. Issue refunds/credits, or adjusting charges. Keep records of transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken. Analyze and audit effectiveness of processing; recommend options to improve problematic areas.
  • Maintain professional and positive written and verbal communications with members, such as students, faculty/staff/retirees, Mizzou community members, and other facility guests. Serve as the department liaison with those wishing to have tours of MizzouRec facilities.
  • Coordinate and participate in campus informational fairs and other outlets to communicate services.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling of member programming and facility hours. Manage special projects as assigned by supervisor.

Salary

Range: $20.66 -$25.97 Hourly

Grade: GGS 9

University Title: STUDENT SERVICE COORDINATOR II

Shift

40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Two to three years’ experience in customer service, business and/or sales management with a large number of customers is necessary.

Standard Red Cross First Aid, CPR, AED and / or Instructor Certification.
