Member of Technical Staff - Nuclear Mission Operations

The Position:

MDA is currently seeking a Junior, Intermediate and working level Engineers/Members of Technical Staff with experience or educational background in the nuclear industry or have a background in systems engineering in complex, mission critical projects (such as space programs).

The successful applicant will be involved in the following:

  • Providing systems engineering expertise on nuclear maintenance and inspection systems
  • Providing project engineering support on a number of nuclear initiatives
  • Developing and documenting technical and interface requirements
  • Verification and test planning support
  • Operations planning/storyboarding
  • Coordinating with various disciplines to support project requirements
  • Off-Nominal/Anomaly system hardware investigations. Co-ordinating the troubleshooting process to determine appropriate solution.
  • Reviewing and analyzing telemetry
  • Developing new products and processes to improve MDA’s offerings within its nuclear line of business

QUALIFICATIONS:

Interested candidates must possess a degree in Engineering- Nuclear, Aerospace, Systems Design, Electrical, or Mechanical) or equivalent. Experience of 2 - 4 years for the Intermediate position and 4 years or more for the working level position. Educational background in the nuclear field or energy sector is preferred; however, candidates with a strong space background and ability to transfer skills to terrestrial projects will be considered.

Skills should include:

  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical drawings
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Visio
    • Sending reports
    • Communication of troubleshooting activities

An understanding of systems engineering practices, good organizational and interpersonal skills are required, as this candidate will be entrusted to directly interface and present to the customer. Hands-on, operational experience working in the field (either in nuclear maintenance or other complex system) is an asset.

The candidate must have strong verbal and written English communication skills as well as the ability to excel in a team environment. All candidates must be able to obtain both CGP and ITAR clearance.
