The CME Group Membership Representative position is a customer facing role within the Client Development & Sales Division of CME. The primary focus of this role is customer service to current and prospective individual and corporate exchange members. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational & communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment on a highly collaborative team.
Principal Accountabilities:
Review & process membership applications for individual membership. Ensure the CME Group Rules & procedures are completed for each applicant.
Manage the membership seat market which is an auction market for the purchase and sale of memberships across all CME Group exchanges. This entails reviewing bids & offers, ensuring completeness of documents, verification of authorized signatures, verification of seat ownership, completing seat sales, processing the payment of seat sales etc.
Process seat transfers between lessee & lessors, as well as between member firms and their employees.
Enter lease information details into the CME Group data system.
Provide customer service to existing customers, prospective members and the general public by responding to questions related to membership.
Explain membership privileges of CME Group exchanges and cost saving benefits of membership.
Onboard new corporate member firms and assist with system set up.
Extensive interface with many CME Group teams including Finance/Accounting, Exchange Fee, Financial & Regulatory Surveillance, Market Regulation, Legal, Clearing and Trading Floor Operations.
Contribute to business process improvements and implementation of new initiatives.
Support/back up fellow team members in daily assignments.
Required Qualifications:
Prior experience working in a Customer Service role
Microsoft Office-Word & Excel and Google Docs
Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team and ability to foster working relationships
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working for a brokerage firm, clearing firm or proprietary trading firm
Experience in the futures and or securities industry
Knowledge of CME Group exchange products
Knowledge of CME membership seat sales and seat transfers
