Site Reliability Engineer (Observability)

Our Observability engineering team is responsible for ensuring Menlo Security's rapidly growing cloud and partner solutions can meet very high levels of user demand while providing customers with excellent user experience at a reasonable cost. We provide insights and information about how our services are running to allow our teams and our customers to keep Menlo Security reliable, high performing and scalable. We are looking for an engineer to help design and develop the future of our observability systems. The ideal candidate would have some exposure to technical lead responsibilities, solid knowledge of and experience with various observability systems and methodologies, and experience scaling large scale distributed systems. Every engineer plays a significant role in our journey to eliminate the threat of malware in the Enterprise and beyond. It's an environment where you will be exposed to: Modern development tools and technology including Python, NodeJS, Docker, git and many more. The latest deployment and runtime models leveraging, Amazon AWS, Containers, data stores such as Redis, logging via Druid and Terraform, Cloud service design patterns. Large data sets and complex data structures. Delivering software from requirements definition to product in 2-6 week cycle times. Requirements 10 years of Devops or SRE experience building and running large scale distributed systems Required strong understanding of and experience with various metrics, logging and tracing systems (splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Honeycomb, DataDog, etc.) In-depth knowledge of Linux and strong networking fundamentals. Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, VMware deployments and version upgrade management. Experience Building RESTful APIs Strong ability to learn quickly and think about complex problems analytically for optimizing and scaling. Ability to write clean, concise and maintainable code. Good working knowledge of modern programming/scripting languages and runtime environments. Proactive, self-motivated, and strong ability to learn. Excellent written and oral communication skills. BS/BA or relevant experience preferred. Salary Range: $150K -- $200K Minimum Qualification DevOps & Site ReliabilityEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications
