About the Role
The Merchandise Analyst role will support Ariat’s Merchandising & Sales Analytics. This individual will work closely with the Director of Analytics and focus on development, maintenance, and training on new and existing vizzes. A major focus will be on analysis and training for the Merchant Team and Sales Teams. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about data analysis and relentless in searching for insights and making recommendations that will serve to optimize productivity for the teams. They will search for ways to leverage Tableau or data modeling. This is a highly integrated position, interfacing with many departments internally and working closely with our sales force on projects and requests. Strong communication and organizational skills are a must.
You’ll Make a Difference By
- Producing Monthly Reporting, such as Global Pivot Tables for Apparel, Footwear, and Accessories
- Playing a key role in apparel launches and the allocation function with detailed analysis by product line, customer, priority rankings and sales regions to maximize revenue generation and reduce loss.
- Assisting in Costing Analysis per season, with deep dives on cost changes and forecasts from Planning to correctly view targeted styles.
- Productivity Files quarterly and updated with Product Merchandisers to show the current LE for the FY and future projections.
- Analyzing and publishing monthly summaries from Sales and provide insight from trends.
- Analyzing MAPE for forecasts and review changes YOY to support planning.
- Working with cross-functional business partners by providing objective information to support their functional areas in Sales/PM’s.
- Answering ad hoc business questions to support business decisions and strategy – lead with data, facts, and objective materials to validate and substantiate perspectives.
About You
- Retail and/or wholesale corporate experience required.
- BA/BS degree Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or Data Science preferred in addition to 2-4 years work-related experience.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel, Tableau, and functional knowledge or ERP systems such as SAP.
- Experience with databases, SQL as plus.
- Enjoys math and have strong numbers and logic skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- A passion to learn and an ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast growing and changing environment.
- A self-starter who takes initiative and is flexible and adaptive to changing priorities.

The salary range for this position is $66,000 - $70,000 per year.
The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations. Ariat in good faith believes that this posted compensation range is accurate for this role at this location at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
