Job DescriptionOur company's Information Technology (IT) division partners with colleagues across the business to help serve our patients and customers around the world. Ours is a high-energy team of dynamic, innovative individuals dedicated to leveraging information and technology to efficiently drive revenue and productivity, thereby advancing our company's contribution to global medical innovation.Enterprise IT (EIT) is an essential component of the current IT division that provides support to the Pharmaceutical Research and Development (R&D), Supply Chain (Manufacturing), Marketing (Human Health) organizations as well as Enabling Functions. The EIT SAP Platform Team is responsible for our company's SAP Global Template asset, delivering enterprise-level capabilities through harmonized business processes and data. The team is responsible for the operation of all our company's SAP and integrated solutions, governance of the associated enterprise assets, and cost-effective delivery of capabilities to support achievement of immediate and future state business objectives.Within the EIT SAP Platform Team, the EIT SAP Technology Lead will assume the crucial role of leading all areas of SAP Technology. They will be responsible for leading a DEV/OPS SAP technology team, responsible for development/ governance/ operations of the enterprise-wide technical SAP ERP asset. Their responsibility includes DEV/OPS for SAP Basis Administration, SAP Security Administration, and SAP Development. They will also have responsibility for the end-to-end Upgrade strategy from roadmap to execution for the entire SAP Ecosystem (private cloud and SAAS). They will also have responsibility for coordinating SAP Technology governance for the aforementioned areas, as well as SAP Middleware/Integration and Reporting/Analytics standards, patterns, and technologies. They will lead the Technology Integration Meeting and provide Senior Technology approvals in the Design Authority. They will ensure the smooth operation of our SAP systems with a mindset towards continuous improvement.Their expertise in SAP System Administration will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and ensure critical incidents are quickly addressed. Their expertise in SAP Development will include delivery, oversight of standards, and governance. Their expertise in SAP Security will include SAP Security authorization concepts, and overall role administration. This role reports to Executive Director, SAP Platform Team.Primary Responsibilities:Leadership and Strategy• Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for the DEV/OPS SAP technology team.• Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with the overall business goals.• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in SAP systems and processes.Team Management• Build and lead a high-performing team of SAP professionals, including SAP Basis administrators, SAP developers, SAP security experts, and SAP reporting analysts.• Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the SAP team.• Provide mentoring, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.SAP Basis DEV/OPS• Oversee the management and maintenance of the SAP technical infrastructure.• Ensure system availability, performance, and security through effective monitoring and optimization.• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues and implement best practices.SAP Development DEV/OPS• Lead the SAP development team in delivering high-quality and efficient solutions.• Define and enforce coding standards, development methodologies, and quality assurance processes.• Drive innovation in SAP development practices, including automation and agile methodologies.SAP Security DEV/OPS• Develop and implement robust SAP security policies, procedures, and controls.• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.• Manage user access and authorization processes, including role-based access control.SAP Upgrades• Oversee the planning and execution of SAP system upgrades, patches, and migrations.• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to minimize disruptions and ensure successful upgrades.• Stay up to date with the latest SAP releases and recommend upgrade strategies to maximize system performance.SAP Integrations and Reporting• Provide oversight for SAP integrations with other enterprise systems.• Define and enforce integration standards and patterns.• Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop and enhance SAP reporting capabilities.Education:• Bachelor's Degree is required. Concentration in a Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is preferred.Required Skills & Experience:• 10+ years of SAP technical experience required• Life Sciences Industry experience preferred• 3+ years working with SAP S/4HANA preferred• In-depth knowledge of SAP architecture, landscape design, and system administration best practices preferred• Extensive experience in SAP Basis administration, including system installations, upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning.• Awareness and understanding of latest SAP development capabilities and best practices required• Familiarity with SAP security concepts and experience in implementing security controls desired• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex system issues.• Strong leadership skills with experiences in managing and developing teams• Proven record of excellent performance• Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience; competence in clear concise and tactful communication with senior management, clients, peers and team members• Demonstrates an executive presence through good communication and professionalism• Service finance and budget managementNOTICE FOR INTERNAL APPLICANTSIn accordance with Managers' Policy - Job Posting and Employee Placement, all employees subject to this policy are required to have a minimum of twelve (12) months of service in current position prior to applying for open positions.If you have been offered a separation benefits package, but have not yet reached your separation date and are offered a position within the salary and geographical parameters as set forth in the Summary Plan Description (SPD) of your separation package, then you are no longer eligible for your separation benefits package.
