Job DescriptionThis role will support Manufacturing Operations and will serve as a second Quality Assurance representative for the Elkhorn site’s Frozen Vial Management. This team member will provide guidance from a quality compliance perspective having knowledge of local and global Animal Health standards, USDA regulations, and cGMP generally.Typical job duties for this position include, staging frozen vial inventory for operations, inventory counts of QA freezers, opening and conducting investigations into vial discrepancies, shipping frozen vials to different sites, managing seed usage through a variety of tracking mechanisms and serving as a back-up to the site SME for Frozen Vial related issues and questions.Additionally, this role will assist in updating and maintaining applicable processes and procedures and becoming proficient at managing a variety of records through change management systems.The Quality Assurance Technician will be instrumental in the operations of the Elkhorn Manufacturing Facility. They will conduct annual inspections within the various site departments while assisting in prioritization and execution of Quality Compliance actions assigned to the site. Additionally, this role will be occasionally assigned short term tasks and projects with varying degrees of urgency and difficulty and thus organization, critical thinking and creativity are necessary attributes for this role.A successful candidate will navigate the various perspectives of Planning, QA and Production utilizing Leadership Behaviors and principals of Inclusion, while holding Safety and Quality as primary values.Additional duties will include the following:• Assist with production record review on a semi-regular basis• Perform high level functions in SAP.• Participation in Annual Outline Review.• Key participant in Quality Compliance Inspections from off-site entities.• Other tasks as assigned by QA Manager and Quality Director.Education Minimum Requirement:• High School Diploma or equivalentRequired Experience and Skills:• Basic understanding of documentation required for biological, pharmaceutical or equivalent industry.• Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail while reviewing documents for multiple hours per day.• Ability to work with limited supervision, and schedule work activities to meet deadlines.• Competent in computer-based systems.Preferred Experience and Skills:• 2+ years of previous work experience is Biologics, Pharmaceutical or similar regulated industry.• Previous experience in Quality Assurance role.• Experience with SAP, Reliance, Trackwise or equivalent.• Understanding of GMPs of Documentation, Change Management, Deviation Management.• Understanding of microbiology, virology, and or vaccine manufacturing.• Technical writing skills.MSJRNOTICE FOR INTERNAL APPLICANTSIn accordance with Managers' Policy - Job Posting and Employee Placement, all employees subject to this policy are required to have a minimum of twelve (12) months of service in current position prior to applying for open positions.If you have been offered a separation benefits package, but have not yet reached your separation date and are offered a position within the salary and geographical parameters as set forth in the Summary Plan Description (SPD) of your separation package, then you are no longer eligible for your separation benefits package.
