Microsoft's Business Planning organization directs our commercial portfolio's pricing, packaging, licensing, channel, and monetization strategies. Few teams exist that have such a direct impact on Microsoft and the entire industry. Within Business Planning, the New Commerce and Commercial Strategy organization is responsible for defining, enabling, marketing and landing high impact customer and... partner commerce experiences that span Azure, M365 and D365 business model opportunities, channel strategies, licensing readiness and deal making approaches. Within this group, you would have an opportunity to lead the organization which owns the marketing and execution of our most complex and high impact business models across the Microsoft field, partners, and customers; our marketing properties related to licensing and commerce experiences; and with representing these audiences in influencing strategies across Business Planning. To successfully deliver impact, there are multiple key audiences this team partners with including teams across business planning, field leadership, our partner organization, and various field-based roles. In this unique position within Microsoft, you'll lead a team that directly influences business strategy, take ownership of its successful implementation, and represent the needs of field, partner and customer audiences to provide insights to business planners across Microsoft's product portfolio. Responsibilities How you can make an impact:
Attract, retain, and grow business planning talent, as a senior leader and manager. Foster a positive organization culture, building trust, and a diverse and inclusive environment. Represent our field, partners and customers engaging with stakeholders in the development of key business planning strategies. Develop and own strategies for landing key business planning initiatives to drive adoption and impact across field sales, partners, and customers. Articulate the vision and value of key commerce and business model initiatives, developing messaging that conveys the strategic value to business partners. Support your team to develop change management plans and the content and communications to successfully execute those plans. Actively measure and manage the success of change manage efforts, representing this to senior executives, and adapting the approach as needed. Influence strategy formulation and provide insights to the broader Business Planning organization, leveraging your teams' unique perspectives and relationships. 10
years of experience spanning strategy, marketing, pricing, sales or equivalent practical or functional experience. 5
years of people management experience with a focus on coaching and growth of team members. Preferred:
Experience working with Field Sales customers or Partners Understanding and experience working in commercial cloud businesses, either in the industry or at Microsoft. Successful history of driving strategy changes and delivering the intended results. Demonstrated executive communication, presentation, storytelling and strategy alignment experience. An understanding of, or experience working in or with a large field sales organization. Ability to excel in ambiguous environments and driving results with cross-functional teams. Demonstrated quantitative and data analysis skills. Successful history of planning for the execution and landing of complex strategies. Strong attention to detail.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
