Under supervision of the NPTS program chair and CACS advisor, the NPTS GA provides support for the NPTS program chair and CACS advisor. This is a non-exempt, temporary part time student position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Works with CACS advisor to compile a weekly “Opportunity” newsletter for NPTS students with relevant announcements and job/internship openings.
· Assists NPTS program chair as needed.
· Updates NPTS Job/Internship spreadsheet as needed.
· Updates spreadsheet with faculty and student accomplishments, such as publications or conference presentations.
· Serves as a liaison between the program chair and NPTS students.
· Supports end of the semester program reception for graduating students.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other related duties as requested by Program.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
· Current computer skills, to include word processing, knowledge of internet, email and database management (Excel, Handshake).
· Solid written and oral communication skills.
· Attention to detail and confidentiality skills.
· Capacity to prioritize and organize work requests and projects.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and public relations skills, including ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff and fellow students.
· Willingness and ability to comply with Institute policies, procedures, and mandates.
Education/Experience
A combination of education and experience, which would demonstrate possession of the skills required for the position.
Physical Requirements/Environment
The Monterey Institute maintains a smoke-free/drug-free workplace. Job requires ability to sit for extended periods of time, ability to handle lightweight parcels and supplies, dexterity for repetitive action such as keyboarding, writing.
