As a Sales and Marketing Account Manager, you will develop and implement sales and marketing
activities to ensure the client(s) overall objectives are met and exceeded. Your day-to-day role will
be varied, dynamic and exciting, offering you the opportunity to develop new skills and contribute
to impactful projects.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
● To learn about and gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the client(s) destination/product.
● Develop and maintain excellent relationship with client(s) and relevant trade contacts to ensure that we are achieving and exceeding their expectations, to include on-site visits to client(s).
● Develop and maintain excellent relationships with a wide range of relevant bodies, including key trade contacts, suppliers, airlines, tour operators and hotels to ensure that the client(s) maximum sales potential is realised.
● Develop, direct and implement strategic activities, using agreed measurement criteria, for advertising and marketing the client(s) to achieve optimum promotional awareness, raise the client’s market profile and increase sales.
● Develop and implement marketing plans.
● Co-ordinate all marketing plans and activities and work closely with PR and marketing teams to ensure that the client’s plans are delivered effectively and within the agreed financial limits of their budget.
● Monitor and report expenditure against the client(s) budget.
● Handle trade enquiries (via email, telephone and meetings).
● Maintain a consumer and trade database.
● Organise and attend sales missions, familiarisation trips, research groups, trade training seminars, workshops and events, including trade and consumer shows, and develop trade marketing partnerships to raise the profile of the client and increase sales.
● Regularly attend meetings, social functions and networking events to maximise the client’s profile.
● Carry out research, analyse trends and results to support the Director on destination positioning and recommending strategy.
● Keep abreast of trade developments to pro-actively ensure that the client/Company maintains the highest standard of sales and marketing thereby achieving its competitive position.
● Ensure the Company achieves its objectives by overall profitability of the client’s account.
● Lead on all client related admin e.g. client calls, weekly and monthly reports.
● Actively seek out new business opportunities and business development opportunities.
Role Requirements
● Qualification to degree level ideally with a relevant sales and marketing qualification.
● A minimum of 3-5 years tourism industry experience.
● Excellent travel trade contacts.
● A strong marketing background.
● A thorough understanding of the work of the Company’s business, mission statement and objectives.
● In-depth knowledge within the relevant travel/lifestyle sectors.
● A professional “get it done” attitude.
● Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
● Preferably experience of managing people.
● Outstanding written communication and presentation skills, ability to provide creative and effective solutions.
● Experience of managing marketing activities and budgets.
● Ability to work and thrive in a multi tasked and fast paced environment.
● Team player.
● Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
● Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
