With established offices in Los Angeles and New York City our division develops strategic plans for our clients across consumer marketing, public relations, social media and travel trade engagement. We represent international tourist offices, such as Australia’s Northern Territory, Rwanda, Madeira, Costa Rica among others. We are looking for a dynamic addition to our team to manage the responsibilities for international tourist board clients. Applicants should have strong consumer marketing and travel trade marketing skills. The candidate must possess 4-6 years marketing and tourism experience.
We are looking for candidates with a creative outlook, who can find, build, and maintain relationships with our destination clients, travel suppliers, airlines and partners to find new and innovative ways to increase visitor numbers via tactical sales and marketing activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Day to day client contact – meetings, phone, email etc.
- Implement on-and-offline trade and consumer marketing campaigns, including content, native and digital OTA campaigns
- Develop trade relations with tour operators, consortiums, travel agents, wholesalers, airlines and other industry partners
- Conduct sales calls and training programs with tour operators and travel agents
- Maximize reach and effectiveness of trade marketing and educational programs
- Assist to develop and implement annual sales and marketing plans, with strong focus on integration and maximizing budget
- Effectively track and manage budgets that contribute to the larger profitability and on-budget delivery of work for the account
- Steward campaign reporting with a strong focus on securing conversion metrics
- Draft client and stakeholder presentations
- Ideate with the team on marketing programs and partnerships to encourage special interest travel
- Liaise with client contacts to execute ad-hoc reports, assessments and required campaign and activities reporting
- Manage timelines and implementation of projects
- Assist with administrative functions of the account, particularly brief development, trafficking, tracking, coding and organizing sales, marketing and travel expenses and billing on an ongoing basis, client reporting.
Required Skills:
- 4-6 years marketing and tourism experience
- High levels of independence and illustrated decision making abilities
- Proactively identifies client challenges and solutions on deliverables
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Superb organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to travel and work with minimum supervision
- Project briefing, management and trafficking skills
- Extensive knowledge of on-and-offline marketing outlets for the tourism sector
- Understanding of on-and-offline digital advertising metrics and reporting
- Ability to think strategically about sales and marketing activities
- Ability to provide direction and input to account team and support staff
- Budget management experience
- Comfortable working across different time zones as required by client
- Able to travel domestically and internationally for approximately 25% - 30% of the year
- Suitable tertiary qualifications
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally; must possess valid passport
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience in the travel industry with understanding of travel distribution channels
- Experience in integrated sales and marketing campaigns across disciplines
- Experience in digital media and consumer marketing campaigns
- Experience with marketing long-haul destinations such as Middle East, South Pacific, Africa or Asia
Travel Required (one week per month on average)
