Accounting Manager

This position is based out of San Francisco.

OVERVIEW

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to play an integral part of our Finance team. In this role you will lead our financial statement audit, actively participate in our audit readiness in areas such as ASC 606, 340, 350, etc. Additionally, the role will own the internal annual financial reporting process. 

This position will have a key role in reviewing and preparing accounting transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of the company's GAAP financial statements. In addition to reviewing the monthly account reconciliations and journal entries to complete month end close.

The role will manage the annual income tax preparation process. The position will drive process improvements through system evaluations, enhancements and implementations. 

The ideal candidate will have Big 4 public accounting experience as an Assurance Manager, who knows how to lead a team and has the technical knowledge and skill set to draft up accounting adoption memos. 

We are looking for an individual who can manage multiple projects, troubleshoot issues and effectively communicate.

In this role, you will:

• Maintain accurate financial information ensuring execution and compliance of internal policies as well as external requirements, including but not limited to:

  • Review, prepare and process accounting transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of the company's GAAP financial statements.

  • Review monthly account reconciliations and journal entries for month end close.

• Lead audit process and key areas, such as ASC 606, 340, 350.

• Coordinate the external audit of the company’s financial statements.

• Lead internal annual financial reporting processes.

• Manage the annual income tax preparation process.

• Drive process improvements through system evaluations, enhancements and implementations.

• Effectively leading the accounting staff through training and mentoring.

• Support transactional processes as needed.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.
  

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), required

• 4+ years of public accounting experience in Assurance, Big 4 Accounting firm, required

• 2+ years of experience leading teams/staff

• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, time management, follow-up, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to pursue multiple objectives and initiatives, analyze complex issues, and facilitate change

• WIllingness to do the necessary work to get the job done 

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work cross-functionally with other teams

• Comfortable in a rapidly growing environment with evolving organizational needs
