We founded the company as a fully-remote team (pre Covid!) and are open to applicants that live within a 5 hour time zone difference of US Pacific Time.

The Role

We're looking for a hands-on, player/coach Engineering Manager to manage our Core Product software team, overseeing a group of full-stack generalist software engineers building/improving Monarch's core product. This role will partner closely with our CTO on engineering-wide initiatives as well.

Your Contribution

  • Manage and grow the team of engineers working on Monarch's core product experience. Help them execute day-to-day and grow their skills/career over time.

  • Collaborate closely with Product and Design to plan and execute on new features and improvements.

  • Review and help make key technical decisions.

  • Partner with our Head of Engineering on hiring and other engineering-wide initiatives.

Skills

  • 2-5 years experience in a hands-on management role.

  • Comfort writing or reviewing code, when necessary, across the entire technical stack (front-end and back-end).

  • Strong product intuition.

  • Experience making technical decisions at scale (distributed systems).
