We’re looking for a Senior GoLang Engineer with expertise in Go to design, implement, and continuously improve our backend services. Experience with Ruby and React is a plus, and we value individuals with a growth mindset and strong collaboration skills

🚧 What you’ll do

• Build scalable, low-latency real-time order processing services in Go

• Take end-to-end ownership of feature development, ensuring reliability, performance, and quality

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align goals and develop smooth rollout strategies
• Facilitate technical discussions through ADRs and participate in peer reviews
• Provide technical support and mentorship to peers and junior team members

🙌 Who will you work with?

Umair joined Mondu in 2022 with a strong background in fintech and firsthand startup experience as a co-founder, bringing a passion for building both exceptional products and high-performing teams.

He began his journey at Mondu as one of the early engineers, focusing on key features such as payouts and offline sales. Over time, he transitioned into the role of Engineering Manager, where he now leads a team dedicated to building exceptional products and driving engineering excellence.

Umair believes in balancing hands-on technical contribution with a commitment to supporting each team member’s growth. He fosters a collaborative, empowering environment where engineers are encouraged to take ownership, innovate, and thrive. 🏅What you need to succeed

• Strong proficiency in Go, with extensive experience in building backend services
• Experience with event driven architecture. Knowledge of Kafka is a plus
• Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines
• Proficient in Kubernetes for container orchestration and microservices deployment
• Proficient in implementing monitoring and observability practices
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and infrastructure
• Proficient in SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts, collaborate effectively, and share ideas and perspectives.
• Adapt quickly as the organization grows, staying open to new technologies and continuously refining your skills

It would be a plus if you also:

• Have frontend experience, in particular with React
• Have Ruby experience

At Mondu, we have the vision to disrupt and become the leader in B2B payments. We are building a Buy Now, Pay Later solution for B2B e-commerce businesses. Our business will address new customer needs in a vast new market segment. To do so, we will need to re-invent core parts of the payment experience to serve the needs of business customers. Moreover, we will need to listen closely to local customer needs and tailor our approach to the requirements of local customers in Europe.
