Warehouse Manager Location: Morgantown, PA Do you love developing strategies for warehouse operations to support production? How You Will Make an Impact? The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall strategy and operations of the warehouse and ensures timely delivery of materials to the production lines. This position is held accountable for achieving overall operating results consistent with the company goals. The Manager directs communication and collaboration with the customers of the warehouse (manufacturing) and develops a quality organization that meets the company expectations for reliability, speed, accuracy, and safety. In addition, the manager oversees the recruiting, training, development and coaching of all warehouse team members.
The Nuts and Bolts -

- Facilitate cross-functional teams to implement Lean Material Flow System and Plan For Every Part methodology as it relates to material flow to the manufacturing lines
- Coordinate with Mfg. Fabrication shops to optimize planning, expediting, prioritization and order fulfillment to the manufacturing lines
- Maintain On Time Fill Rate to the manufacturing lines of 95%+ and Inventory Accuracy at 98%
- Work closely with supervisors and leads to coordinate warehouse activities, such as shipping, receiving, capacity planning and inventory control. Reviews and evaluates all warehouse functions.
- Manage the daily activity of all shipping, receiving, and inventory warehouse team members to assure a high level of customer service.
- Act as a liaison between Operations, Materials, and Warehouse functions.
- Manage departmental budgets
- Interview, select, and train warehouse and supervisory Team members
- Inspect Physical condition of the warehouses, including all equipment, and maintains, repairs, or replaces as required
- Responsible for the execution of picking of material for the manufacturing lines, inventory transfers to other sites across the U.S, scrap, daily cycle counting and performing Physical Inventory on a yearly basis
- Assist with defect, scrap and rework identification and reduction.
- Manage a cycle count team to improve and sustain high inventory accuracies, while adhering to count requirements and schedule.
- Define, develop, and set in place metrics for warehouse personnel to deliver labor efficiency, storage density, safety, FIFO, and on time delivery of materials
- Identify and install best practices for warehouse supervision and product flow
- Lead material flow improvement projects that support maximum utilization
- Cross train Team members in all aspects of Warehouse operations including OSHA, other safety and asset security
- Participate in development, implementation, and monitoring of all safety programs.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor warehouse personnel creating a culture that focuses on safety, operational excellence, and outstanding customer service.
- Write capital projects for various warehousing projects.
- Actively participate in kaizen events
- Research and evaluate the use of technologies, such as radio-frequency identification (RFID), GPS tracking, forklift monitoring/utilization hardware, etc.
- Conduct 6S audits of all plant and warehouse storage areas.
- Evaluate current state and develop specifications for equipment, tools, facility layouts, or material-handling systems.
- Identify cost-reduction or process-improvement logistic opportunities.
- Identify or develop business rules or standard operating procedures to streamline material flow
- Perform other Job-related duties as assigned.
Required Credentials - Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Management, Supply Chain, or related degree highly preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in a warehousing, distribution, or shipping management.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience managing people in a fast-paced distribution environment .
- Strong leadership, motivational, and team-building skills.
- Ability to resolve crisis and make quick decisions.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and familiarity with AS400 or other mainframe systems.
- Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of industrial engineering and supply chain management.
Preferred Credentials - JDE EnterpriseOne experience or other MRP/ERP system utilized to reference part information.
