The Institutional Client Coverage group is a joint venture between Wealth Management and the Institutional Securities Group (“Middle Markets”). The group is responsible for covering over $2,000 institutional client accounts.Position DescriptionFixed Income Sales professionals work closely with our institutional trading desks to facilitate fixed income business with institutional accounts. Salespeople are responsible for all aspects of distribution including desk runs, axes and general inventory distribution to external dealers. Additionally, sales professionals respond to account inquiry, BWICs, OWICs and general fixed income inquiry.Primary ResponsibilitiesSalespeople are responsible for facilitating and promoting sales/trading activity in Fixed Income products with external institutional accounts. Candidate must have a strong interest in the fixed income markets, specifically Municipal markets. Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidate must want to work in a fast-paced and intense environment and have an aptitude for analyzing and interpreting often complex information in a timely manner.• Facilitate fixed income transactions and sales with external institutional accounts• Collaborate with institutional fixed income trading desk to distribute fixed income product• Assist in the management of a book of institutional accounts and maintain their overall relationship and experience with Morgan StanleyQUALIFICATIONSSkills Required• Bachelor’s Degree Required – CFA/MBA is a plus• Sales experience a plus• Proficient using Bloomberg a plus• Possess a comprehensive view on economic conditions, trends and the implications of key economic data releases• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with various professionals.• Self-motivated, innovative, hardworking individual, who can work under pressure and competing deadlines• Demonstrate strong time management/prioritization skills and solid judgment• Strong verbal and written communication skills• Outstanding attention to detail and follow-up• Possess a strong understanding of the financial services industry, global capital markets and MSRB rules• Proficient in Microsoft Office• Series 7 and 63 licenses preferred or willingness to obtain within 180 days of hireExpected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $185,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
