The group works closely with senior leadership to analyze information, develop recommendations, and design comprehensive plans to capture growth opportunities.Position Summary And ResponsibilitiesThe Associate/AVP is responsible for working on the business’s most critical strategic questions, including topics such as growth, profitability, acquisitions/divestitures, multi-year planning, technology investments, and competitive dynamics. This individual will join a team of high performers in identifying and sizing opportunities, assessing relevant industry trends, modeling key financial scenarios, assessing potential acquisitions and divestitures, and developing key recommendations to drive MSWM’s future success and competitive advantage.This individual will work across the organization with other areas such as Workplace & Institutional, Family Office, E*TRADE, Investment Solutions, Finance, Technology, and Marketing. The multi-faceted role requires an individual with strong analytical and problem solving, quantitative, communication, presentation, and project management skills who is capable of multitasking across several projects to achieve outstanding results.Key tasks the candidate will be expected to perform include:• Develop concise and effective presentations supporting business strategy• Aid in development of strategic and analytical frameworks to drive critical projects for the business• Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential acquisition targets and emerging industry trends• Perform data analyses to help drive insights and conclusions, including financial modeling• Gather competitive intelligence on existing and emerging competitors, including financial performance, growth drivers, positioning, products, and new initiatives• Participate in discussions with senior management and support delivery of conclusions derived from projects to advise on real-time issues as well as longer-term strategic effortsExperience• Bachelor’s degree with strong academic record• 3+ years of relevant work experience in management consulting, investment banking, big banks within an internal consulting functionSkills/Abilities• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem solving skills• Solid data analysis experience with robust financial modeling skills and understanding of corporate finance and accounting• Strong attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills• Proven success with multi-tasking and working on multiple projects simultaneously• Self-starter who will take initiative, learn quickly, and work independently• Team-oriented, with high level of administrative and interpersonal professionalism• Solid knowledge of the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Morgan Stanley's goal is to build and maintain a workforce that is diverse in experience and background but uniform in reflecting our standards of integrity and excellence.
