We are looking for a dedicated and talented Senior Roadway Engineer to add to our growing Transportation team. The position will involve working directly with engineers, technicians and administrative staff on pursuit, development, and execution of highway engineering projects. You will have a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative work environment and help shape the future of our transportation services in Indiana.

About the Transportation Business Unit

The Transportation Business Unit within ms consultants provides transportation engineering services for all project types and scopes, from the largest interstate systems to local township roads. Some of the services provided include roadway design, bridge design and rehabilitation, environmental documentation, and sustainable transportation design. Our highway, structural, traffic, water resources and environmental planning engineers work collaboratively to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and long-term transportation solutions.

What You’ll Do:

Specific responsibilities include:

• Perform roadway design and plan preparation for highway projects.
• Lead projects, complete designated task assignments, and report progress to transportation leaders.
• Project scheduling, progress reporting and coordination.
• Development of project proposals and estimates.
• Final project plan and document preparation including quantities.
• Collaborate with team leaders to help provide a strategic edge over our competitors.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

• BSCE from an ABET accredited College or University.
• Experience with professional design and preparation of plans for interstate and local road/street projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or can obtain within six months of employment.

Knowledge and Skills

• Understanding of AASHTO, FWHA, and INDOT standards preferred.
• MicroStation OpenRoads experience preferred, but not required.
• Alternative Delivery Project experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow direction and work in a team environment.
• Ability to collaborate and share individual ideas and experiences
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
