Description:
The National Account Director- Government Accounts/Managed Markets will possess expertise and a successful track record in engaging and contracting with the public and private payers, trade and purchasing partners. The individual will lead certain managed access activities within assigned national and other relevant accounts which include regional payers (Commercial and Medicaid), specialty pharmacy purchasing agreements, PBMs, State Medicaid, Military and Government Channels, Medical Groups, and other healthcare intermediaries for Cognoa.
This is an opportunity to set the tone for a market-leading Market Access organization, launch a product that will have a major impact on the future of digital medicine, and forge payer relationships to successfully scale and expand Cognoa's footprint within the digital diagnostics and therapeutics space. This role is an individual contributor and reports to the Senior Director, Market Access and Strategic Partnerships.
This individual collaborates with key internal partners in Market Access, Sales Leadership, Government Affairs, Medical Affairs, Patient Services and Product Support and with external partners with a particular focus on the Government/Medicaid customer segment to ensure appropriate reimbursement and market access in line with the Company's intentions and within the scope of corporate Compliance guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve targeted payer access (commercial and private) with optimal profitability, develop accounts, prepare the market for new products and lead pull-through planning to meet/exceed key objectives. Contribute into all phases of the development lifecycle: concept, design, hands-on development, deploy, and support.

Plays a critical role in planning, organizing and directing state and national pull-through activities in collaboration with all commercial team (HCP, Channel and Payer) and Leadership to accomplish key corporate goals.

Ensure all products are readily available and achieve targeted reimbursement and / or formulary position at National, Regional, and Medicaid accounts.

Deep and relevant experience with contract negotiation and portfolio management.

Develop and execute innovative market access strategies as well as traditional strategies while assessing customer capabilities.

Ensures that the needs of, and opportunities in, assigned accounts are communicated to Market Access leadership and other internal stakeholders so that they can be integrated into strategic planning and forecasting as appropriate.

Achieve positive results for all aspects of the National Account Director job responsibilities including achieving sales & share goals and objectives along with successful negotiation and execution and pull-through of all Government contracts.

Penetrate accounts to uncover business opportunities by developing solid professional relationships with key decision makers

Understand Government Policy and how impacts current and future Market Dynamics.

Special project work based upon marketplace needs and appropriate Market Access Development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required

8-10+ years of successful previous diagnostic, biotech, or medical account management experience
- Experience contracting with National, Regional, and Medicaid Accounts
- Track record of consistent high performance within the account management / business development organization

Experience implementing programs within government and Managed Medicaid accounts
- Experience negotiating value-risk based agreements
- Deep understanding of the current managed markets landscape and experience establishing reimbursement for novel technologies
Preferred Experience:
- Digital therapeutics / medical device experience preferred
- Prior experience selling a complex specialty product/technology within Medicaid/ Managed Medicaid that required a change in protocol/workflow is preferred
Skills and Expertise:
- Strong understanding of and experience in reimbursement practices in the regulated diagnostic and medical device industry.
- Excellent communication skills and solution-orientation
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 60% time domestically
- Able to work for prolonged periods at a computer
