Job Description Summary

As a Specialist, you'll provide end-to-end meeting and event strategy, management and delivery. We'll count on you to provide outstanding personal experience that builds brand loyalty and drives business, carefully manages resources and ensures strategic alignment of meeting and events to business goals and needs.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Partners with meeting sponsors to determine event goals and objectives and interact with others across Nationwide to ensure the successful implementation of events.
Develops and presents comprehensive event proposals including projected budget, creative elements, site and property recommendations, business content support, activities/entertainment, destination management and other related event operational components.
Sources, negotiates and contracts vendors to meet business goals, ensure return on investment and ensure financial value to Nationwide.
Operationalizes all event details and components, regardless of in-person, virtual, or hybrid, including, but not limited to, travel, lodging, attendee management, speakers, entertainment, production, decor, pint collateral, etc.
Assists in developing and leading the event budget focusing on cost avoidance, value to Nationwide, return on investment and risk mitigation.
Collects data and evaluates program success, developing recommendations for future programs.
Establishes, develops and maintains relationships with meeting industry suppliers, influencers, and thought leaders to ensure quality support, competitiveness and responsiveness to Nationwide needs.
Uses cloud-based programs (i.e. CVENT) to lead events, from intake through registration, project management, budgeting, attendee management, sourcing, reporting and on-site management of mobile app technology.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Senior Consultant/Director/Associate Vice President. This is an individual contributor role.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in related business field preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: CMP and/or CVENT certification preferred.
Experience: Typically, five or more years of demonstrated experience working in the meeting and event industry.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills used to interact with a wide variety of audiences including Nationwide management, meeting planning networks, and vendors. Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence with the ability to develop and present program recommendations. Validated ability to analyze and make decisions based on sound practices and budgetary considerations. Ability to be flexible and agile to innovatively resolve problems and issues under stress.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.
The national salary range for Specialist, Event Experience & Execution : $60,000.00-$123,500.00
The expected starting salary range for Specialist, Event Experience & Execution : $66,500.00 - $99,500.00
