Sr Manager of Accounting

The Senior Accounting Manager will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits. This person will manage the payroll function, monthly closing of accounts and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements.


The Senior Accounting Manager will report to and work closely with the Corporate Controller and others in the organization in analysis and reconciliation of accounts and in development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.


The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.




Responsibilities
  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
  • Participate in strategic financial projects including upgrades/phase-two implementation of NetSuite ERP software.Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient and accurate month-end closing and all internal management and financial reporting.
  • Responsible for hierarchy and scalability in chart of accounts and accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements and has ultimate authority over classification and booking of all transactions.
  • Analyze the effect of statutory accounting practices and studies regulations and guidance to ensure correct application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establish the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud
  • Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses/account reconciliations
  • Assist with compilation of information to support the preparation of tax returns.
  • Ensure that desk-top procedures are established for each accounting role/process.
  • Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or managerial roles.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (GAAP), and internal controls.
  • Strong attention to detail as the deliverables in this role  will inform key business decisionsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting software, preferably  NetSuite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including staff management, coaching, and team building.
  • Commitment to professional development and staying current with accounting trends and developments.

Compensation/ Pay Transparency
  • Disclaimer: The actual salary of a successful applicant may vary from posted ranges based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, geography, internal equity and alignment with market data, and other legitimate business reasons, including, but not limited to, compliance with applicable immigration law prevailing wages.
  • In addition, Natron Energy has a strong benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k Plan with Match, Life Insurance, Parental Leave Benefits, Discretionary Time Off (DTO) and Paid Time Off (PTO) for Exempt and Non-Exempt employees respectively, and 11 paid holidays.
  • The hiring range for this position is 145,000-160,000 DOE.
