We own and operate leading entertainment and news brands, including NBC, NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, NBC Sports, Telemundo, NBC Local Stations, Bravo, USA Network, and Peacock, our premium ad-supported streaming service. We produce and distribute premier filmed entertainment and programming through Universal Filmed Entertainment Group and Universal Studio Group, and have world-renowned theme parks and attractions through Universal Destinations & Experiences. NBCUniversal is a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation.

Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

MSNBC is looking for an experienced Digital Platforms Producer.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on behalf of MSNBC across all platforms including linear, digital and streaming to create content that aligns with the brand identity of MSNBC
  • Collaborate with the linear shows, digital editors and MSNBC leadership on editorial vision as well as daily, weekly and monthly goals and priorities
  • Curate MSNBC.com and the MSNBC app with a lively mix of accurate, informative content, and distribute that content across partner platforms including Apple News, SmartNews and Flipboard
  • Write and A/B test accurate, eye-catching headlines and story packaging for MSNBC.com
  • React to breaking news in real time, keeping MSNBC owned platforms up to date, accurate and precise
  • Contribute to the production of MSNBC’s flagship newsletter
  • Partner across MSNBC digital to promote podcasts, live events and documentary initiatives  
  • Monitor analytics to inform programming decisions

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Must have at least 4 years digital production or otherwise relevant editorial experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of current events, U.S. politics, geopolitics, foreign policy and history.
  • Voracious reader of news from diverse sources, including op-eds
  • Experience curating a news homepage and social media editorial, with a knowledge of what works and doesn’t for different platforms
  • Passion for breaking news and helping audiences understand it
  • Experience working in opinion journalism

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.
  • This role works a shift covering weekday afternoons and evenings
  • This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $93,000 - $110,000
