Regular Python Developer

Job purpose

We are looking for a Python Engineer to join our client's team at a leading fintech company, providing a comprehensive cloud-based payment orchestration platform that streamlines payment processing for businesses, enabling them to manage transactions efficiently and securely across multiple channels.

As a Python Developer, you will be part of a highly skilled, motivated, distributed remote development team working on our partner’s platform built using Python 3.9 and the FastAPI framework along with React and Typescript for most of the frontend. The team uses unit, integration, and acceptance tests to drive design and keep everything working and the Google Cloud platform as an infrastructure provider.

As a member of our team, you will collaborate across product, engineering, design, and other stakeholders. We work in short two-week sprints & regularly share, reflect on, and iterate on our work.

What You’ll Do:

• You’ll collaborate in a multidisciplinary product team to deliver working software that will be used by merchants around the globe. This will include writing Python to deliver new features for our customers, as well as refactoring our codebase to make it more pleasant and productive to work on.

• You’ll be comfortable writing modular code and thinking about how your work fits into the big picture.

• You’ll have strong communication skills, and be comfortable discussing problems and solutions with your team-mates. You’ll be asked to give your input & ideas to help make decisions and shape features via product planning and other product development activities.

• You’ll enjoy learning, teaching & sharing your experience with your colleagues in various ways; we encourage code review, pairing, mentoring, and getting & giving regular feedback.

What you’ll bring:

• Excellent knowledge of Python with 3+ years’ experience in Python2 and Python3 preferably using the FastAPI framework. 

• Experience with some libraries like Starlette, AsyncIO, and the ability to create accessible HTML would also be valuable.

• Some knowledge and experience with Typescript and React will be considered an advantage. 

• You’ll have experience writing high-value tests and understanding software design principles.

• Willingness to adopt new technologies and keep an open-minded approach to software development. 

• Comfortable working asynchronously with team members around the globe.
