Position Summary:
The Senior Manager of Pharma Operations is responsible for optimizing operational efficiency and utilizing insights derived from data analysis to guide decision-making processes and improve client interactions.
Core Responsibilities:
- Establish and Monitor Performance Metrics: Develop and assess performance metrics to facilitate continuous improvement, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making and enhance client engagement by meeting or exceeding expectations.
- Process Refinement and Integration: Establish and standardize policies, procedures, and standards to ensure effective and compliant operational execution. Enhance operational processes to streamline communication and collaboration between sales and operations, with a focus on driving revenue growth and maximizing profitability.
- Infrastructure Development and Governance: Create and implement robust infrastructure and governance models to effectively support pharmaceutical service projects.
- Effective Communication and Leadership: Navigate and communicate adeptly in ambiguous situations, providing clarity and guidance to both sales and operations teams to foster a cohesive and purpose-driven environment.
- Initiative Leadership: Lead initiatives to address challenges and eliminate operational bottlenecks, fostering collaboration and a problem-solving mindset within the organization.
- Demand and Capacity Planning: Serve as the primary point of contact for operations in demand and capacity planning and forecasting initiatives. Support Operations strategies and structure to meet sales and organizational growth objectives in alignment with the NeoGenomics mission and vision.
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Business or a relevant field is required. An advanced degree (MBA, MS) in a related field is considered advantageous.
- 7 years of experience required, 10 years preferred
- Project Management and Continuous Improvement Proficiency: Exceptional expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean-Six Sigma, etc.)
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to navigate complex situations and foster collaboration
- Influential Leadership: Possess an influential leadership style to motivate and guide teams within a highly matrixed organization
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically to identify revenue-driving opportunities and operational enhancements
- Initiative and Execution: Proven capability to take initiative, prioritize effectively, and execute projects independently in a fast-paced environment
- Background in Life Sciences: Strong foundation in life sciences with a significant focus on project management
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the biotechnology or medical device industry, with a preference for candidates with expertise in oncology
- Clinical Experience: Experience with clinical research/clinical trials, preferably in medical device; general knowledge of medical device clinical trials design and best practices. Experience in the CAP/CLIA/FDA regulated industry preferred.
- Companion Diagnostics (CDx) Experience: Preference for candidates with experience in companion diagnostics
