The Network Administrator III provides design, implementation, maintenance, and support services for server level enterprise network application. The Network Administrator III is responsible for maintaining end to end knowledge of all systems they support. This position reports to the Systems Administrator Manager.
Position Description (Essential Duties & Responsibilities):
- Evaluates the networking needs of the company and recommend purchases and upgrades.
- Installing, configuration and troubleshooting network routers, switches, load balancers, access points, VPN and security devices.
- Use analytical data to improve network performance for all connected devices.
- Design and configuration of network disaster recovery, resiliency plans, security, backup and restore plans.
- Contributes to the design and architecture of a multi-tiered network infrastructure able to accommodate rapid growth.
- Configuration of on-premises and cloud-based networks.
- Maintain a healthy network by monitoring and evaluating network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput and latency to mitigate and prevent further issues.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
Basic (Required)
- Four-year university degree or college diploma in computing or information technology or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- 6-8 years of enterprise network experience, and high level of proficiency is required.
- Broad understanding of information technology concepts.
- Experience with layer 3, VPLS and MPLS
- Networking experience (Routing, VLAN’s, firewalls, BGP)
- Proficient in scalable network planning
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment to resolve issues and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and under own initiative
- Self-motivated to learn and acquire new skills.
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with windows as a desktop environment.
- Ability to work a hybrid on-site schedule.
- Understanding of private WANs
Preferred
- Experience administrating Cisco Meraki, access points, and networking switching equipment.
- Cisco and Meraki and related certifications
- Project management experience
- Linux and VMware network troubleshooting
