Network LAN Specialist (Cisco Equipment)

Primary Purpose of the Job:

• Provide local and remote support for multiple locations, mostly in the US and Mexico.
• Plan, design, analyzes and provides technical support for data communications of networks.
• Network monitoring, Capacity and Configuration Management.
• Coordinating changes on all Network software and hardware
• Create and\or maintain current quality documentation.
• Provide governance and conform to security requirements.
• Proficient in Cisco route/switch/wireless and firewall platforms. Palo Alto experience a plus.
• Expected travel time is 20%.

Activities / Key Challenges:

• Select, direct and monitor the implementation of wired and wireless equipment for the business and process networks for supported sites.
• Configure and implement networks for multiple sites.
• Process, support and represent business requests.
• Manage telecommunications projects.
• Monitor and secure the network.
• Maintain compliance for network components.
• Support over 300 critical network devices and maintain a 99% uptime.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

• The individual must be knowledgeable in business standards, conventions, procedures, and technical environments.
• Strong customer engagement skills with excellent interpersonal and presentational skills, with the ability to communicate (verbally and written) at all levels of the business, IT, and corporate partners (vendors) effectively.
• Develops and improves the expertise needed to demonstrate the effectiveness of changes to the specialized systems that result in solving specific business problems.
• Using the preferred list of products and services used by Howmet, directing and influencing product and service choices in such a way that this preferred list is adhered to.
• Effectively engage Level 1 (customer contact), Level 2 (initial troubleshooting and resolution), and Level 3 (project/design work) support to assist the customer.

• Suppliers of products and services
• Teams, peers, manager and other relevant personnel in the GIS organization

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering from an accredited institution. Alternately, current Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification with 5 years of IT experience.
• 5 years of experience implementing and supporting network solutions with Multi-platform Cisco Routers, Switches, EIGRP, BGP, VoIP and Network Management tools.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,904.46 - $110,000.00 per year
